I'll be presenting tomorrow for the one of the education panels at this year's
PCA/ACA National Conference in San Antonio, Texas. My paper is "Language of the Obscure(d) Author: Race, Education, and the Rules of Writing in
Finding Forrester," a topic addressing Gus Van Sant's movie and how it creates a neo-slave narrative paralleling Frederick Douglass'
Narrative concerning writing in and out of the classroom, especially when a reclusive Salinger-esque author is thrown into the mix.
