
Off to Atlanta this week to contribute to the Textual and Bibliographic Studies panel at the
South Atlantic MLA Conference (as well as take in some interesting Cormac McCarthy panels while I'm there). I'll be presenting my paper, "Eros With Absence: The Changing
Cancer Iconography of Henry Miller," a study of how different phases of cover art for
Tropic of Cancer over the decades have ironically devalued Miller's image in favor of contemporary erotica to potentially help the next generation of Miller readers create a more open text of one the 20th century's most infamous novels.
